The Animated Series' Creator Is Aware of Your Second Season Predictions — With Some Good News

The highly-awaited second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been intense.

The first season introduces a diverse group of personalities residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes recur frequently: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the creator commented recently. "But I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how fast the new season moves, and how many of what they're anticipating happens this season.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some really cool backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a couple people create a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
