Epstein bought a smaller island - Little St James - back in 1998, but subsequently obtained the more expansive Great St James in the year 2016 for around $22.5 million.
These photos reveal he had drawn up ambitious plans to build upon the sprawling island by building residences, an amphitheatre, an submerged workspace and a pool.
