Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.
A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.
These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.
Police arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were called at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
